     I remember growing up in sunny California, surrounded by beautiful hills and beachy shores.  My family was very big on camping and the outdoors, so it was no surprise that we invested in quality camping gear.  We were far from "roughing it" with our roomy tents, solar showers, portable toilets, inflatable mattresses, plush sleeping bags, kitchen sink and stove, along with a vast assortment of outdoors sports equipment and games, as well as sporting goods and apparel.  It was no question when our family was getting ready to camp because our driveway would be littered with one week's worth of tents, ruck sacks, sleeping bags, coolers, lanterns, bikes, soccer balls and softballs, and loads and loads of food!

We would always camp in a beautifully shaded spot at Clear Lake Resort, right next to the water, nestled under the sweet-smelling pines.  We would eat a hearty breakfast, and the rest of the day was filled with water sports, batmitton, football, soccer, frisbee, tag, skipping stones on the lake, softball and hiking through the hills.

Our bodies were our fitness equipment as we pushed ourselves to our physical limits, all the while laughing and enjoying one another's company.  These are the best memories of my childhood and my times together with my Mom, Dad and brother.
