camping gearWith spring here and summer around the corner, we are starting to think about our camping trips this summer. While we have most all the camping gear that we need, we do need to get some camping gear for the family dog. He would be much more comfortable if we got him some boots for his feet so when we walk on hot surfaces or rough wilderness, his paws don't get all torn up. There is a fair amount of camping gear available for pets now which makes it a lot easier to bring them along and much more fun for them, too. Ours is a big dog and last summer we got him a doggie backpack so he can carry all the water he needs when we are hiking, along with a collapsible water bowl for him to drink from. Camping is a lot of fun and taking the dog along brings a measure of early warning in case an unfriendly critter gets too close to our campsite. Other than the protective boots for his feet, he doesn't require too much camping gear.
